AU Info
A run-down of Byakuya Kirigiri's AU info. This will act as a spoiler-free alternative to reading his app!
Age: 21 (born May 5, 1997)
Occupation: Shift leader at McDonalds, college student (junior undergrad with business major)
Family: Kyouko Kirigiri (cousin on father's side)
Physical Appearance:
His appearance is generally similar to this. His AU only has minor differences in his facial features, and his hair does not look exactly the same. Also, he doesn't going around wearing a suit. He'll most likely wear preppy clothing/collared shirts or his McDonalds uniform, and he always tries to look presentable.
Personality
Byakuya takes pride in himself, often to an overconfident degree. Byakuya Kirigiri can be arrogant, narcissistic and pretentious, and he can still easily be very condescending towards others, because he places a lot of value in his intellect. He's also keen to take on intellectual challenges.
He can also still be cold and slow to trust others, partly because of the arrogance that comes from his intellect and partly because he remembers from his childhood how easily apparent friends can become bullies. He does still place value in those who fall under his leadership, as he takes his responsibility as a leader very seriously and sees those under him as a reflection of his leadership skills. He's also relatively more relaxed with his family. His nicer side has a better chance of showing up with them, and he jokes more around them. But outside of that, he tends to treat things as Serious Business, and his insulting remarks are the closest things to jokes that he produces.
AU History
- Byakuya's father (brother of Kyouko's father) was originally born in Japan and eventually immigrated to America. He settled down near Recolle and had a son with a French woman. This son was named Byakuya Kirigiri.
- Byakuya was always a bright child and a critical thinker. He's been a regular honor student and ultimately has been attending Recolle U on a scholarship. Specially, he's a business major who will be starting his junior year.
- When he was a child, he was teased by other kids because of his weight and his love of fast food. His initials were "BK", so they teased him by calling him the Burger King. Though they got to him at first, Byakuya ultimately managed to 'own' the insult and declared that he truly would become the king of burgers.
- He's always had an odd, passionate attachment to fast food. His dream, which he realized as he made his way through the above bullying, is to open his own perfect fast food chain, and to that end he has been working within fast food restaurants to try to master the ins and outs of the business. Currently, he's working as a shift leader at Mcdonalds.
- He has one cousin on his father's side, Kyouko Kirigiri. They've only gotten to know each other in the past few years when she moved to Recolle. He encourages her to eat more, and they semi-regularly exchange brain teasers and other intellectual challenges.
- Byakuya has a few hobbies. He's always had a deep interest in anime and attends Recolle U's anime club regularly. He speaks like a connoisseur of anime, often crossing over into being pretentious. He also loves indulging in all sorts of intellectual challenges/strategy games/brain teasers. And he is also good at doing impersonations of others, though he doesn't do it often. Mostly he does it when joking around with family, and he also opens voice commissions sometimes to make extra money on the side. But in general, he believes that impersonations are too silly for the serious image that he tries to convey.
- He doesn't have much in the way of friends, though he does form attachments to those who fall under his command (ie his McDonalds employees) and to people whom he thinks needs help with their eating habits. One example of the latter is Makoto Naegi; Byakuya worked with him on a project once and was insulted by the sad state of his refrigerator, so he does what he can to ensure that Makoto is well-fed.

For future applicants, I'm open to him having more family! Siblings, miscellaneous relatives on either side of the family!
And for those canon familiar, I'd be glad to talk out potential AU ideas with any castmates! Especially Mitarai and the OG Togami!
